An expression of our sustainable development work with wellbeing of occupants at its core, Taikoo Li Qiantan is the first shopping mall in the world to receive the WELL Core Platinum Certification. Developed using contemporary, fluid architecture, the complex shares the Taikoo Li brand’s low-density aesthetic, though it has evolved to a new level through the application of our experience. Opened in 2021, this is a retail-led complex that exemplifies several attributes of modern Shanghai: its rapid urbanisation, efficient transportation system and increasing demand for world-class commercial space. The complex features a sustainability-focused design concept and contemporary architecture. This blends elements found in nature together with distinctive art installations by international artists, including a trio of sculptures of everyday objects from contemporary life by the renowned British conceptual artist Michael Craig- Martin and a playful, over-sized sculpture by acclaimed British artists Joanne Tatham and Tom O’Sullivan.
